Ex-Alliance University VC Murdered

According to Police, Ayyappa Dore (53) was fatally stabbed with daggers and swords at a playground near his residence.

Bangalore: Retired Vice-Chancellor of Alliance University, Ayyappa Dore (53), was found dead at the HMT playground near RT Nagar Police Station on Tuesday night. According to Police, Ayyappa Dore (53) used to go for a walk on the ground after dinner every night. On Tuesday night, he went out as usual, but did not come back, police said. The victim lived just opposite the playground.  

Early Wednesday morning, a police patrol found his body at the ground. 

Dore and his wife had gone to visit her maternal home and returned on Tuesday evening. After dinner, he used to go for a walk, take the house-keys with him. He used to let himself in because he did not wish to disturb his spouse, police said.

The police suspect that he was murdered as there were a lot of complaints related to Alliance University. There is a long-pending ongoing family dispute regarding the running of the college and its properties, police said. According to sources, Dore was stabbed by four to five persons armed with daggers and swords. The weapons were found discarded at the site. 

A case has been registered at RT Nagar police station and CCTV surveillance footage of that area is now being examined. Police officials were seen collecting evidence and blood samples from the spot on Wednesday. The investigation is on.
